Abstract Generated abstract

This paper presents the development of technological charts for high-speed driving of small-section horizontal mine workings during exploration and development of the Eldorado gold deposit. Drawing on Soviet and international practice, as well as the experience of leading heading crews, the authors describe mechanized methods, work organization, ventilation arrangements, and the use of new heading machines and equipment. The proposed technology is intended to support advance rates of roughly 100 to 600 linear meters per month, reduce ventilation downtime, improve productivity, and serve both operational enterprises and geological exploration training.

An album of technological charts has been developed taking into account the experience of domestic and foreign practice in the high-speed driving of mining-exploration workings, as well as the experience of leading heading crews of the USSR Ministry of Geology.

The technology and organization of work have been developed for the mechanized driving of the main small-section horizontal workings. The charts use new mine-heading machines and equipment.

For ventilation, mainly SVM-type fans have been adopted, which make it possible to reduce ventilation time to a minimum. All this made it possible to develop a technology for high-speed driving of workings at rates on the order of 100–600 linear m/month.

The author’s main aim is to assist enterprise workers in the broad implementation of high-speed methods for organizing heading operations, in designing more productive heading equipment, and in mobilizing hidden reserves of economy.

The album may be used in geological-exploration parties and expeditions conducting mining operations, as well as as a teaching aid for students in geological-exploration specialties.
